Inform, Ignite, and Engage WISE Women Veterans
Freedom-loving civil servants are all the rage. In a good way.
This weekend I had the privilege and pleasure of presenting at V-WISE. Our military is not short on acronyms, so I’ll let you in on what this one means. V-WISE is short for: Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship. Yes, a mouthful, but an entirely tasty one due to the big business ideas, hopes and dreams of the powerfully accomplished women and wives who from all stripes of life who attended.
“Feeling so empowered to be in the room with trailblazing women at V-WISE!',” recalled Reka Leftridge from Texas.
Courtesy of the U.S. Department of Defense, Small Business Association, and the Syracuse Institute for Veterans and Military Families, I was delighted to present to the more than 150 women who attended this bi-annual event.
While I was there to kick wisdom on social media strategy and how to develop customer personas, I learned just as much from these inspired achievers.
What Did I Learn About Veteran Entrepreneurs?
How each veteran is equipped with many high-level skills had under their belt. Many had numerous options for businesses they could start in a snap.
Military veterans have a higher probability of entrepreneurial success due to the unique skills and experience gained during their service, which translate well to the business world.
They often possess qualities like discipline, leadership, dedication, and adaptability, all of which are highly sought after in the entrepreneurial realm.
How much easier it will be for these entrepreneurs to succeed because they are to be a part of a strong, vibrant community of supportive sisters.
Starting with an amazing network of individuals who are experiencing the same things, finding like-minded folks present new opportunities in a supportive environment to help you navigate challenges and accelerate growth.
